Senior Coledon Bethel finishes his career at State meet.

Print Version

Senior Coledon Bethel closed out his senior cross country season at the state cross country meet in Fort Dodge on a beautiful fall day in Fort Dodge on Saturday, October 27th.  Coledon’s time of 17:36 in the class 2A boys’ race was good enough to place him 33rd overall. There were 138 finishers in the race. Coledon’s time was 3 seconds off his season PR time of 17:33 he ran ten days ago at the state qualifying meet.

While only competing in cross country his junior and senior years of high school, Coledon was able to place himself in several of the categories of school records.  Coledon ran the 3rd fastest overall time in school history as well as having run the 3rd fastest time by a senior and junior. He will also his end his career third in number of career medals.  Coledon was also a two time TLC conference medalist.

“It was an honor to have the opportunity to coach Coledon the past two seasons.  His work ethic and quiet leadership were excellent examples for the underclassmen on the team this season.  It’s always great to be able to see a senior close out their career at the state meet,” commented Coach Nuss.  “I once again have to thank all the athletes on the team for a great season and all of their hard work. The leadership and hard work of all the seniors will be missed and we wish them the best with whatever they choose to do.”
