Volleyball teams Split during Week #6

The Jaguar volleyball squads on all three levels split during the sixth week of the regular season.  All three levels lost against East Sac County on Tuesday, September 25th.  The JVR lost by the scores of 10-21 and 17-21.  The JV lost by 13-21 and 10-21.  The varsity lost by the scores of 25-19, 19-25, 20-25, and 15-25.

The girls rebounded on Thursday and defeated the Bulldogs of Ogden.  The JVR won by the scores of 21-13 and 21-10.  JV won their match 21-15 and 21-17.  The varsity won all three games by the scores of 25-17, 25-11 and 25-8. 

The varsity served at 98% with Morgan Castenson, Delaney Conrad and Shelby Cummins perfect from the serving line.  Cummins served twelve straight serves with two aces in the second game.  Other players with ace serves were Castenson (two), Lundberg (two), and Conrad had two.  Team average 2.6 ace serves per game.  Castenson had 23 assists (7.66/game).  Leading the offense for the team was Mady Jaeschke with fifteen kills (5/game).  Delaney Conrad had six kills, Kiersten Fisher-five, Ferrari-three, and Lundberg and Crampton each had one.  Conrad, Fisher and Ferarri had a good night with over four assisted blocks each.  A skill that the team greatly improved upon was serve-receive.  They were able to pass the ball off a serve at 65% efficiently.  This allows the setter to set the ball more effectively.

The varsity improves to 13-7 overall and 6-4 in conference play.  They have West Bend-Mallard to finish off the season in conference action on Thursday, October4th.  SENIOR NIGHT will be October 4th prior to the varsity match around 7:00 PMSeniors volleyball players being recognized are:  Morgan Castenson, Lexi Corell, Shelby Cummins, Hanna DeVries, Mady Jaeschke, Cassidy Lambert, and Kasey Lundberg.

JV/JVR highlights:  During the junior varsity reserve match; Jordan Dorsey, Chloe Hicks, Allison Bethel, and Carly Davis were perfect from the serving line.  Addie Corell had three ace serves followed by Carly Davis with two.  Haylee Welter led the team with five kills.  Allison Bethel and Macey Pals had two kills each.  JVR record stands at 6-6 overall and they host their own invitational on Saturday, September 29th.

During the JV match, Emily Jaeschke was perfect with serving and led the team with five kills.  She also had two ace serves.  Jordan Dorsey missed one serve, but had three aces.  Team tallied up fourteen kills total.  The junior varsity record is 11-3 overall.
