Print Version

Newell, Iowa ~ The Southeast Volleyball varsity team traveled to Newell to take on the Mustangs of Newell-Fonda in a Twin Lakes Conference match.  They won the match by the scores of 25-14, 25-19, and 25-18.  A huge achievement for the team was 100% serving in all three games and having eight different players taking their turn serving.  That was a first for this team.  Mady Jaeschke had three ace serves while Delaney Conrad and Shelby Cummins had one each.  Offensively, the Jaguars were led by Delaney Conrad with 10.  Mady Jaeschke followed with nine, while Kasey Lundberg had eight.  Others with kills were Kiersten Fisher with six and Morgan Castenson and Jaynie Ferrari had one each.  Castenson tallied up 23 assists with eight saves.  Conrad, Fisher, and Mady had one block each.  Shelby Cummins led the team with 12 saves for the night.  The team averaged 14.6 saves per game.

In the second game of the night, the ladies were behind 3-13 and worked their way back to win that match.  That is a huge achievement with rally scoring in volleyball.  The team stands at 7-3 overall and 3-0 in conference.

Earlier in the evening, the junior varsity won by the scores of 25-16 and 25-17.  Emily Jaeschke led the team with 100% serving and two ace serves.  Others perfect from the serving line was Jordan Dorsey and Chyann Hicks with two ace serves each; and Addie Corell was also perfect with serving.  Haylee Welter led the team with three kills.    The team stands at 5-2 overall.

The JVR lost their match by the scores of 17-25 and 12-25.  Jordan Dorsey, Chloe Hicks, Chyann Hicks, and Addie Corell were perfect from the serving line.  Chloe Hicks had three kills for the evening.  JVR stands at 2-3 for the season.

The Jaguars will host the Rebels of Sioux Central (Sioux Rapids) on Thursday, September 6th.
