Jaguars Second at St. Edmond Invitational

The Southeast Valley volleyball squad went 3-2 in the St. Edmond Invitational and finished second in Fort Dodge Saturday.

Applington-Parkersburg was crowned champion with a 4-1 mark on the day. Algona Bishop Garrigan also went 3-2, but the Jaguars won the tie-breaker with the head-to-head victory. Pocahontas Area (2-3) was fourth, followed by St. Edmond (1-4) and Webster City (1-4).

The Jaguars defeated St. Edmond (16-21, 21-10, 15-8), Pocahontas Area (20-22, 21-15, 15-6) and Bishop Garrigan (21-18, 21-18).

Southeast Valley lost to Webster City (21-23, 14-21) and champion Aplington-Parkersburg (13-21, 22-20, 7-15).

Mady Jaeschke led the Jaguars with 40 kills and five blocks. Morgan Castenson had 70 assists. Delaney Conrad had 21 kills and Kiersten Fisher had 10 kills and five blocks.
