7/2 Eagle Grove 3-0 W (13-8)

Print Version

First game of a three home game stretch saw the Jaguars taking on the Eagles from Eagle Grove, Coach Bachel’s ala mater.  Defense was key in this matchup as Jaxon Myers threw another gem for the Jaguars.  Going six innings allowing five hits with three walks, he struck out five batters and allowed no earned runs getting out of huge bases loaded jams twice during the game.  The Eagles had runners in scoring position numerous times but it was the Senior Myers who came through with some big plays.

Offensively the Jaguars did just enough getting runners Jackson Housken, Nolan Johnson, and Courtesy Runner Sam Hanson to cross the plate to score.  Nolan Johnson and Xavier Nichols each drove in one run.  Jaguars recording hits was Jackson Housken, Kolson Kruse, Jaxon Myers, Tommy Lennon, Xavier Nichols, and Mason Ackerson.  The Jaguars out hit the Eagles by one but on the scoreboard the score ended up 3 to 0, all thanks to good pitching and defense.
