6/27 @ Manson NW Webster W 10-6 (12-7)

Print Version

The pesky Cougars from Manson were the next opponent for the Jaguars.  The Cougars topped the Jaguars in the first meeting.  This time the Jags traveled there to put their winning streak on the line.  Starting Senior Nolan Johnson the Jaguars started with a lot of swagger as they should with their number one on the mound.  The Jags were quick to score getting three runs in the 1st inning.  The Jags would score 2 in the 4th and then 4 runs in the 5th inning and one more for good measure in the 6th.  The Jaguars knew nothing was secure against the cougars as every game against them seems to be close.  Nolan pitched a good game giving up five hits, with four earned runs, on five walks and striking out 10 batters.  Junior Coledon Bethel came in to finish up the final inning and 1/3 giving 2: earned runs, hits, walks and strike outs.

The defense was just enough but the offense exploded for 10 runs.  Leading the way was Issac Peebler having a monster game going 3 for 3 scoring twice and recording one RBI.  Once again Senior Jaxon Myers had a big game going 2 for 4, with one RBI.  Not to be outdone, fellow Jackson, Jackson Housken was also 2 for 4 with a double but recording one more RBI than Jaxon with two.  The other lone hitter for the Jags was Xavier Nichols who was 1 for 5 at the plate.  The Jags offense was enough to pick up the defense, and get the big W for the Jaguars.
