6-26 @ Graettinger Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire 5-3 W (11-7)

Print Version

The lone conference game of the week for the Jaguars sent them to Graettinger against the Titans.  The Jaguars sent out Junior Jackson Housken who threw one heck of a good game which is the formula for the Jaguars winnings streak: good pitching and defense.  Jackson went the distance only surrendering the ball when he reached his pitch limit one out away from going the entire game.  Jackson threw impressive allowing one hit, but allowed three walks which allowed two earned runs to cross the plate.  Jackson struck out five batters while giving the ball to fellow junior Coledon Bethel who secured the save and got the final out.

Pitching and defense has been the key to the Jaguars late success and timely hits have also been huge for the Jaguars.  Jaxon Myers continued to be hot going 2 for 4 on the night with one home run and driving in four of the Jaguars five runs.  Other Jaguars having huge nights was Kolson Kruse going 3 for 4, scoring twice and stealing two bases.  Coledon Bethel also exploded out going 2 for 3 and was on the bases all night long.  Rounding out the hitting for the Jaguars were Xavier Nichols and Nolan Johnson each gaining one hit and scoring one time each as well.

A long trip to Graettinger but it was worth it as the Jaguars secured another huge conference win and extending their winning streak to five games.  Perfect time to hit a winning streak!
