6-15 St. Mary’s W 13-0 (8-7) (3-4)

Print Version

The Jags continued their winning ways for the end of the week game against the St. Mary Panthers.  After a ton of rain fell which moved Thursday’s make-up game to another postponement.  The rested Jaguars traveled to Storm Lake on a hot day, which started out well for the Jaguars scoring three runs in the first inning, four in the second, two in the third and then 4 in the top of the 5th secured the 10 run rule after 5.

All in all the Jaguars finished with 13 hits on their 13 runs.  Leading the way was Jackson Housken going 3 for 3 and Xavier Nichols going 3 for 4 both of which finished with 1 RBI.  Other Jaguars recording hits were Coledon Bethel and Tommy Lennon who each finished with two hits.  Tommy drove in two runs and scored twice while Coledon crossed home once.  Nolan Johnson, Isaac Peebler, and Mason Ackerson were the other Jaguars who had one hit.  Nolan and Isaac were big ones as they both scored two runners on their lone hit.  Other Jaguars who didn’t record a hit but had an impact was 8th grader Kolson Kruse who walked twice and lead the team with three RBI’s.

Pitching on the mound was Senior Nolan Johnson who didn’t need 13 runs as he finished throwing a 5 inning shut-out allowing only one hit late in the game.  Nolan was bringing the gas as he struck out 10 of the 15 outs recorded in the game.  A much needed big time win for the Jaguars as they hope to continue their winning ways next week as they have a busy four game week.
