6/4 @ West Bend –Conference 0-2 L (1-2)

Print Version

The Pesky Wolverines from West Bend were the Jaguars first opponent of the third week.  The Jaguars traveled to Gilmore City to take them on.  Senior Nolan Johnson got the start for the Jaguars but it was the West Bend pitchers who would take the nights.  Nolan threw well, allowing three hits throughout the night only giving up the two runs on one hit which scored two runners.  Unfortunate timing for the Jaguar defense which played solid the rest of the night, Jackson Housken came in to relief Nolan after he had reached his pitch count for the week.

It was the Jaguar offense which hurt their chances of winning.  The West Bend pitchers keep the Jaguars off balance.  The Jaguars only could muster two hits on the night coming off the bats of Jackson Housken and Tommy Lennon.  The Jaguars had four walks throughout the night with chances to bring around runners but they couldn’t muster any big hits allowing the Wolverines to upset the Jaguars.
