5/31 Humboldt W 6-3 (5-2)

Print Version

A very young and talented Humboldt baseball team came into Dayton Iowa for game against the Jaguars.  The Jaguars had their A game this day as they built a 5 run lead with 4 runs coming in the third inning, then adding one more just for insurance in the 6th inning.  The leader on the night was Jackson Housken who threw a gem on the mound for the Jags.  Jackson finished the night giving up two hits which came late in the game.  He gave us two runs one of which was earned, while scattering five walks and striking out five batters as well.  Coming in for relief was senior Tommy Lennon who gave us one hit on one run and one walk.  It was enough though as the Jaguars secured their second win of the shortened week.

The Jaguar bats finished with 8 hits on the night. Senior Jaxon Myers had two hits and drove in two runs.  Also finishing with two hits was pitcher Jackson Housken who didn’t get any RBI’s but scored three times on the night.  Other Jaguars recording hits were Nolan Johnson, Coledon Bethel, Xavier Nichols, and Isaac Peebler.  Isaac recorded an RBI with his single while Mason Ackerson drove in a run on a groundball to the right side.
