5/24 South Central Calhoun 7-2 W (2-2)

Print Version

Second home game of the first week came on a beautiful but buggy Thursday night as the Titans from South Central came to pay a visit.  The Jaguars had just suffered a bad loss at East Sac and were ready to get back on pace.  They did just that getting three runs in the first inning setting the pace for the rest of the game.  All in all the Jaguars finished with 6 hits and 6 RBI’s coming off the bats of Jackson Housken, Jaxon Myers, Nolan Johnson, Mason Ackerson, Xavier Nichols, and Tommy Lennon.  Big hits was the theme of the night getting 4 RBI’s off the singles of Mason Ackerson’s and Xavier Nichol’s hits as both hits scored two runs.  The other two RBI’s came off the bats of Isaac Pebbler and Tommy Lennon.  Jackson Housken was the long Jaguar whose hit turned into a double.

The Jaguars big hits helped spur on the pitcher of the night Coledon Bethel.  Coledon threw remarkably going all seven innings allowing only four hits, one earned run while walking three batters and striking out seven.  For Coledon’s first outing on the mound he threw a heck of a gem and behind a solid defensive effort opened the eyes of Jaguar fans that if they can play good defense with good pitching they are a tough team to beat.
