5/22 ST. EDMONDS W 4-1 (1-1)

 Print Version

The opening night game in Dayton, IA saw the Gaels from St. Edmonds traveling to take on the Southeast Valley Jaguars.  The first home game of the season had a special 1st pitch honoree:  Dakota Jaeschke who had a huge impact on the Jaguar Baseball program.  Leading the way offensively for the Jaguars started with senior pitcher Nolan Johnson who had an impressive night at the plate going 2 for 4 and 3 huge RBI’s.  Grabbing one hit a piece was Jackson Housken, Jaxon Myers, Colton Kamp, and Coledon Bethel.  Jackson Housken ended up scoring one run while Colton Kamp crossed home twice.

It was Nolan’s night on the mound as well pitching a gem his first game out.  Nolan recorded 11 strikeouts in six innings of work, allowing five scattered hits and no earned runs.  After reaching his pitch count which was a little high for his first outing, Nolan gave the ball to fellow senior Jaxon Myers who finished off the Gaels striking out two.  A great night in Dayton IA saw the Jaguars gather in their first home win of the early season with a tough 5 game schedule they were going to have to be ready to play hard every night.
