North Central District FFA Conference Held

Buffalo Center, Iowa ~ The North Central District FFA Conference was held on Saturday, March 3rd at North Iowa High School.   There were 30 chapters present with over 285 members either competing or attending sessions.

The Parliamentary Procedure team of Samantha Alphs, Benjamin Carlson, Chloe Hicks, Payton Erritt, and Blake Peterson earned a silver rating. 

Proficiency Awards:  The chapter had eleven individuals compete in the FFA Proficiency award area.   Ten of the eleven applications advanced to state.  Results from the district level is as follows:  Ag Mechanics-Ryan Jondle-Silver; Beef Production-Entrepreneurship –Margaret Anderlik-Gold and advanced; Beef Production-Placement-Jaynie Ferarri-Silver and advanced; Diversified Agriculture Production-Benjamin Carlson-Gold and advanced; Diversified Crop Production-Jaden Cline-Gold and advanced; Diversified Horticulture-Morgan Castenson-Gold and advanced; Equine Management-Payton Erritt-Silver and advanced; Fiber and Oil Crop Production-Joel Lambert-Gold and advanced; Forage Production-Ben Carlson-Silver and advanced; Sheep Production-Hannah Rees-Silver and advanced; Swine Production-Lincoln Miller-Silver and advanced; and Noah Jepsen-Wildlife Management-Gold and advanced. 

Iowa FFA Degrees:  The following students had their records and application verified by the district advisor to receive their Iowa FFA Degree.  Those individuals were Tessa Berg and Noah Jepsen.  They will receive their degree at the State FFA Leadership Conference in April.   The Iowa FFA Degree is the highest degree a member can receive on the state level. The 90th Iowa FFA Leadership Conference will take place in Ames, Iowa on April 22-24, 2018
