Jags capture first tournament title

Thursday nights momentum propelled the Jag wrestlers to a championship Saturday as they captured their first tournament title winning the St. Edmond dual team tournament finishing a perfect 5-0 for the day. The Jags started the day defeating Roland-Story 45-22, the Jags then downed St. Edmond 66-17 in the second dual. After lunch in perhaps the most exciting dual the Jags won 45-33 against Britt, West Hancock as the Jags were up by six when Clayton McFarland sealed the win with a big pin against his Eagle opponent. In the fourth dual Ackley Geneva Wellsburg Steamboat Rock fell victim to the Jags, 60-22 and in the final and fifth dual the Jags defeated a scrappy Clarke, Osceola squad 46-33.  Four Jag wrestlers: Trey Lawrence, Colton Klingson, Kyler Fisher, and Clayton McFarland finished 5-0 for the day, Coledon Bethel, Mason Goodwin, Sam Hemmestad, Carter Fluckiger, and Xavier Nichols finished 4-1; Alex Pudenz finished the day 2-3, Jaxson Carlson 1-2, and Evan McCrady finished 1-4. 

Saturday was a really good day for the guys. They wrestled hard and were rewarded with a championship. They all enjoyed receiving the first place plaque as well as coaches, managers, cheerleaders, and fans who attended the tournament. 

In other Jaguar wrestling action, two Jags claimed titles at the Ogden JV wrestling tournament. Logan O'Neal and Noble Nowell both finished 3-0 at the round robin tournament. Everett Lahr finished third going 1-2 and Zane Geis finished in fourth place.
