Squad serves at 97.7% efficiency

Week 7

West Bend, IA ~ The Lady Jaguars ended week seven at West Bend taking on the Lady Wolverines of West Bend-Mallard.  The varsity defeated the Wolverines by the scores of 25-7, 25-23, and 25-22.  The squad served at 97.7% efficiency with 11 ace serves.  Perfect behind the serving line were: Shelby Cummins, Cassidy Lambert, Kasey Lundberg, Mady Jaeschke, and Morgan Castenson.  Castenson, Lundberg, and Seil had three ace serves each.  Shelby Cummins had two ace serves.  The team averaged 3.6 ace serves/game. 

The offense was a balanced attack with four girls having over five kills each.  Leading the offense was Kasey Lundberg with seven.  Mady Jaeschke had six kills.  Jaynie Ferrari had five, while Delaney Conrad contributed four.  Morgan Castenson had 22 assists. 

Defensively, Mady Jaeschke had one ace block and two assist blocks.  Delaney Conrad had two ace blocks.  Kenzie Crampton had an ace block and Castenson had one assist block.  The team had 73 saves which averages to 24.3 saves per match.  That statistic was a season high for the varsity squad.  Delaney Conrad had 16 saves and following her was Shelby Cummins with eleven.  Other players with five or more saves were: Kasey Lundberg, Morgan Castenson, Carson Shipley,  Mady Jaeschke, and Cassidy Lambert.  Other girls will saves/digs were: Kenzie Crampton, Kiersten Fisher, Megan Seil, and Karissa Hiesterman. 

The team finishes the season at 11-10 overall and 6-5 in conference play.   They open the conference tournament in Lake City on October 10th in Lake City.  They will play South Central Calhoun and Sioux Central.  Other sites playing that night with three teams in each pool are in Alta, Lake View and Pocahontas.  The top eight teams will play at one site on Thursday night with the bottom four at another site to be determined (TBA).
