Week 5-Jaguar Volleyball Goes 1-1 for the Week

The varsity volleyball team went 1-1 during the fifth week of the season.    The ladies played East Sac on Tuesday, September 26th and lost by the scores of 17-25, 21-25, and 20-25.  The team served at 91.5% with Morgan Castenson, Mady Jaeschke, and Shelby Cummins perfect from the serving line.  Jaeschke led the team with two ace serves.  The team averaged 1.66 ace serves per game.  Offensively, the Jaguars were led by Mady Jaeschke with seven kills.  Kasey Lundberg had five kills and Jayne Ferrari had three.  Kenzie Crampton and Delaney Conrad had two kills and Kiersten Fisher had one.  Castenson had 20 assists.  Defensively at the net, Jaeschke led the team with two blocks and three assist blocks.  Conrad had one block and one assist block.  Other girls with assist blocks were Castenson, Lundberg, and Crampton.  The team averaged 16.3 saves per game.  Shelby Cummins had 13 saves followed by Cassidy Lambert with ten.  Other girls who had five or more saves were Delaney Conrad,  Morgan Castenson,  Mady Jaeschke, Carson Shipley, and Kasey Lundberg.

The team traveled to Ogden on Thursday, September 28th and defeated the Bulldogs of Ogden by the scores of 25-16, 25-15, and 25-21.  The team came out strong with serving the ball at 97.1% and averaging three ace serves per game.  Kasey Lundberg led the team with four ace serves.  Jaeschke had two aces and Megan Seil, Delaney Conrad, and Morgan Castenson each had one ace.  The girls had a good night defensively with five block and three block assists.  Kiersten Fisher had two ace blocks.  Others having a block were Lundberg, Jaeschke, and Castenson.  Conrad had two assist blocks and Ferrari had one.  Offensively, Mady Jaeschke and Kasey Lundberg led the team with seven kills each.  Delaney Conrad and Kiersten Fisher had four kills each.  Others with a kill were Kenzie Crampton and Morgan Castenson.  Castenson had 22 assists and Jaeschke and Lundberg each had an assist.    Against Ogden the girls did a nice job in saving the ball.  The team averaged 22.3 saves per game.  Three ladies had eleven saves each which were Conrad, Lundberg and Castenson.  Mady Jaeschke had ten saves.  Other team players with at least five saves or more were Cassidy Lambert, Shelby Cummins, and Carson Shipley. 

The varsity improved to 10-10 overall and 5-5 in conference.  The varsity travels to West Bend-Mallard on Thursday, October 5th.    The Twin Lakes Conference tournament is during the week of October 9th.  Sites and times to be announced (TBA).
