Tough night for the Jags

The Jaguars came out ready to play and mix things up with SCC.  The Jags opened up the game with a nice 8 play drive but SCC stopped the Jags on 4th and 4
SCC put together a 11 play drive but the Jag defense kept them out of the end zone and got the ball back.
Jags have 2 negative yard runs and were forced to punt and took an injury on one of the plays which really hurt the Jags for the rest of the night.
Score after the 1st is 0-0 and it was looking like a very good game.
The Jags started the second quarter a different team from the first.  The boys were hanging their heads and were not playing as aggressive as they did in the 1st and SCC took advantage of that and put together a 11 play scoring drive together.
SCC defense forces a 3 and out and immediately SCC threw a sweep pass for a 24 yard Touchdown and that just killed the Jags as the score was never going to be closer.
Half time score 14-0
The boys had a heart to heart at half and were told you have to keep fighting.  They were asked who is going to step up for us.
Quarter 3 the Jags looked good and were out competing and played with SCC 0-0 in the 3rd.
4th quarter the Jags were just worn out and beat up and taking a few injuries and just could not handle in the 4th quarter.  SCC had another big pass play and 1 more big run up the middle for their 4th score.
Coach Swieter does not know how long some players will be out but does promise there will be some competition this week for some starting spots.
Coach Swieter also commented how how we can not give up.  We have a lot of season left and still can win a lot of games but the Jags have to eliminate the mistakes that have taking place over the last 3 weeks.  We are giving up big pass plays, allowing teams to run up the middle on us and the offense needs to get back to pounding the ball and scoring points.  If the boys do not hang their heads we can get this figured out and still have a successful season.  They need a never quit attitude right now.
