Varsity Goes 3-1 in Conference

The Jaguar varsity volleyball team extended their record to 6-5 overall and 3-1 in conference Thursday night with a victory over the Rebels of Sioux Central by the scores of 25-21, 23-25, 27-25, and 25-15.  The girls only served at 90.9% at the serving line.  The team averaged 1.75 ace serves per game.  The team struggled at times with serve receive at 51%.  Passing the ball is essential in setting up the offense.  Morgan Castenson had 34 assists (sets for kills) and Kasey Lundberg had two.  Leading the team with kills was Mady Jaeschke with nine.  Delaney Conrad and Kenzie Crampton followed with eight each.  Kasey Lundberg had six kills, Kiersten Fisher with three, and Jayne Ferrari and Morgan Castenson with two each.  Defensively at the net with three blocks was Delaney Conrad.  Kiersten Fisher had three block assists.  Mady Jaeschke had a single block and Kasey Lundberg had one block assist.  The team did a good job with digs, saving the ball.  Libero Shelby Cummins led the team with 12 digs.  Mady Jaeschke and Cassidy Lambert had ten.  Lundberg had nine, Castenson with seven, Conrad with six, Carson Shipley had four, Megan Seil with two and Jayne Ferrari had one.  The team averaged 15.25 digs per game. 

The varsity squad travels to Manson on Tuesday, September 12th to face off against Manson NW Webster and Emmetsburg.  They then travel to Eagle Grove for a triangular to take on Eagle Grove and Saint Edmonds on Thursday, September 14th.

JV and JVR Both Win

The JVR and JV teams both won at Sioux Rapids against the Rebels.  The JVR team won by the scores of 21-25, 25-6, 15-4.  The junior varsity won by the scores of 25-19 and 26-24.  The JVR team served at 93% with Chloe Hicks perfect from the line with 26 serves and eight ace serves.  The junior varsity team served at 95% with Emily Jaeschke, Jayne Ferrari, Delaney Conrad and Lexi Corell perfect from the serving line.  Maggie Anderlik was 33 out of 34 with serving and had two aces. 

The JVR record stands at 4-3 overall and junior varsity is 5-2. 

The JVR travels to Lake View on Monday, September 11th to participate in a quad with Emmetsburg, Newell-Fonda, and East Sac County.  The JV team will travel with the varsity squad to Manson and Eagle Grove on Tuesday and Thursday. 

The Jaguars junior varsity team will be hosting their invitational tournament on Saturday, September 16th.  Teams participating are Greene County, South Central Calhoun, Eagle Grove, East Sac County, Carroll, Pocahontas Area, and Saint Edmond.
