The varsity volleyball squad won two more matches this week to improve 5-5 overall and 2-1 in the conference.  The week started with the ladies defeating the Titans of GTRA (Graettinger) by the scores of 25-21, 25-17, 25-21.  Perfect from the serving line was Morgan Castenson, Mady Jaeschke, Kenzie Crampton, Kasey Lundberg, and Shelby Cummins.  Lundberg had four ace serves followed by Cummins with three.  The team was fairly balanced with offense with Mady Jaeschke leading the Jaguars with 10 kills.  Delaney Conrad followed with seven and Kasey Lundberg had six.  The team had a total of 31 kills with an average of 10.33 kills per game.  Morgan Castenson had 28 assists.  Mady Jaeschke had three blocks.  Other ladies that assisted with blocking was Conrad with one and Lundberg with one.  Crampton, Ferarri, and Castenson each had an assist with blocking too.  Castenson led the team with eight saves/digs.  Cummins and Jaeschke had five digs.  Others contributing to the team with saves were Crampton, Lundberg, Carson Shipley, and Conrad.

The girls faced the Mustangs of Newell-Fonda on Thursday night (8/31/17).  The team struggled at times with serve receive and passing the ball during play.  However, the girls were able to get things going and won by the scores of 25-20, 25-19, and 25-22.  Perfect from the serving line was Morgan Castenson, Delaney Conrad, Shelby Cummins and Megan Seil.  The team served at 95.7% with one ace serve per game.  Leading the offense was junior Mady Jaeschke with 13 kills.  Kasey Lundberg and Kiersten Fisher each had four kills.  Delaney Conrad had three, Kenzi Crampton with two, and Ferarri and Cummins tallying one each.  The team averaged 9.33 kills per game.  Setter Morgan Castenson had 26 assists.  Castenson had seven digs followed by Conrad with six.  Jaeschke and Cummins had five digs each too.  Delaney Conrad had two ace blocks and Crampton had one blocking assist.  The Lady Jaguars will travel to Sioux Rapids on Thursday, September 7th to face the Rebels of Sioux Central in a conference match.
