6/27/17-Girls travel to Pocahontas

6/26/17   Southeast Valley traveled to Pocahontas for a non-conference match up.  The Jags started slow but managed to win 7-3.  Both team struggled offensively through the first 2 innings.  Poky jumped out to a 3-0 lead heading in to the 4th inning.  The bats finally got going in the 5th inning for the Jags as they plated 3 to tie the game.  Jaiden Ackerson was hit by the pitch and Cassidy Lambert reached on an error.  A misplayed hit by Kenzie Crampton would score Ackerson and a fielder’s choice by Sam Alphs would put her on base.  With 2 outs Shelby Cummins singled in Lambert and Alphs to tie the game.  The defense would handle any threats Poky had and the Jags plated a run in the 6th when Kasey Lundberg led the inning with a single.  Back to back singles by Ackerson and Lambert would score Lundberg.  The final at bat saw SV score 3 more as Sam Alphs singled, Cummins moved Alphs with a sac bunt.  Emily Jaeschke singled and went to 2nd on the first and third.  Lundberg hit a 2 run triple and Morgan Castenson drove in Lundberg with her single.  Crampton got the win allowing 2 hits, 2 walks and fanning 8.  The defense committed 3 errors.  The offense was led by Kasey Lundberg who was 4-4.
