6/24/17 South Hamilton Tournament

Southeast Valley faced Greene County in the first round of the South Hamilton Tournament and lost 6-3. The Jags went 3 up 3 down in the first inning while GC put 2 runs across the board.  SV would tie it up in the 2nd inning as Morgan Castenson singled and advanced to 2nd on the misplay.  Cassidy Lambert reached on an error and Kenzie Crampton doubled in Castenson and Lambert.  Greene County scored 2 more runs in the 3rd and SV responded with a run of their own.  Shelby Cummins singled and stole 2nd, she would tag on the fly by Kasey Lundberg and scored on a first basemen error.  Greene County scored one mmore run in the 5th and the Jags couldn’t answer back and the game was ended by the time limit.  The Jags were led at the plate by Cassidy Lambert and Kenzie Crampton each going 2-3.  Morgan Castenson suffered the loss giving up 6 runs on 7 hits walking 2 and fanning 5, there were 3 Jaguar errors. 

 

The second round of tourney wasn’t any easier as the Jags took on #1 rated I-35.  I-35’s pitcher had the girls baffled.  The Jags were held scoreless and hitless on the day.  Southeast Valley went down 7-0.

 

Bouncing back from 2 losses Southeast Valley put a hurt on South Hardin winning 15-0 in 4 innings.  Shelby Cummins reached on an error and stole 2nd.  Cassi Berglund singled and went to 2nd on the first and third situation.  Kasey Lundberg would score Cummins on her fielder’s choice and Morgan Castenson scored Berglund on her single.  The 3rd inning started at the top of the order and Cummins doubled.  Berglund would score Cummins on her single.  Lundberg then hit a triple to score Berglund and Castesnon drove in Lundberg.  Jaiden Ackerson doubled in Castenson and a Mady Jaeschke single brought in Ackerson.  Jaeschke stole 2nd and Sam Alphs drew a walk.  Cummins up again in the inning scored Jaeschke and Berglund’s mishandled ball got her on base.  Lundberg doubled in Alphs and Berglund and the Jags lead was 11-0.  SV finished the game in the 4th inning as Ackerson singled and advanced home on single by Emily Jaeschke.  Mady Jaeschke singled to score Emily.  Sam Alphs singled and Lundberg drove in Alphs to finish the game.  Lundberg led at the plate going 3-4 with 5 RBI and a double and triple.  Cummins, Ackerson, and M. Jaeschke each had 2 hits apiece.  Castenson picked up the win giving up 3 hits walking 1 and striking out 4.
