7/5 @ Eagle Grove L 1-2 (11-14)

A cancelled game @ South Central Calhoun brought in the July 4th weekend.  A short week of baseball action saw the Jaguars traveling to Eagle Grove to take on the soaring Eagles.  The Eagles have been playing well as of late and it was a good game until the end.  The Jaguars sent out Nolan Johnson to start on the mound.  After Nolan reached his pitch count the Jaguars threw in senior Nolan Brand to go the rest of the way.  Both pitchers threw well giving up 5 hits, two earned runs and striking out five but only allowing one walk.

The Jaguars had their chances but could not come up with a big hit on the night.  The Jaguars actually out hit the Eagles but timely hits were their keys to success.  Leading the bats was pitcher Nolan Brand going 2 for 3 while Sam Berglund, Jaxon Myers, Dakota Jaeschke, Jacob Sorenson, and Jackson Housken all had one night on the night.  Jaxon Myers’ one hit was a double which scored the only Jaguar run.  It was a tough loss for the Jaguars after having their chances to score late in the game.  With one game left on the regular schedule this game marked the 9th one run game the Jaguars have had this season.  In those games the Jaguars lost 6 games and won 3 of those games, which begs the question it is a different record for the jags if that number is reversed.
