6/26 @ Pocahontas L 0-2 (10-13)

The Jaguars short week of games before the July 4th break set up the Indians from Pocahontas with the Jaguars traveling to Poky in a non-conference match up.  Last time these two teams meet up the Jaguars squeezed out a win 2 to 1.  This time it was the Indians coming up with a close win scoring two runs in the 6th inning which was enough to secure the win.

Junior Jaxon Myers took the mound for the Jaguars and threw great pitching all six innings allowing two hits, 3 walks and no earned runs.  Jaxon also struck out 5 batters on the night.  In most cases these numbers would be enough for a pitcher to secure the win but the Jaguar bats weren’t loud on this night and the defense gave up some huge miscues which allowed the Indians to score their two unearned runs.  Jaxon threw a terrific ball game but the Indians pitcher threw a slightly better one only allowing one hit which came off the bat of Senior Dakota Jaeschke.  Jacob Sorenson was the other lone Jaguar getting on base which he got from a walk early in the game.  The Jaguars who only mustered one hit still had runners in scoring position but were never able to get the big hit.
